Pixel takes as its starting point the smallest element of the image -
the individual pixel (1x1). The installation is comprised of two
networked computers on which the same script is simultaneously run.
As a result of random generators, the progression develops differently.
The machine as image-producing instance is evoked through the dialectic
of two identical scripts which develop through the parallel running
computers. The tension between identity and difference of image
material which develops out of originally identical codes is explored
on the two parallel projections. The emphasis of this installation
is the reduction of image material and to pose the question of which
compositions come into being when pixels react independently relative
to their position.
