There
are two main starting-points in the videowork interrupt:
a selected, singular tone for the audio track and a single black bar
for the video track. The video is edited according to a strict
metric system in which the audio- and video track have
the same numbers of cadres. The singular tone temporally structures the
appearance of the picture. 'interrupt' has to be analysed; how can image
structures and samples be developed with formal ideas like interruption,
repetition or compression. Reducing sound to its individual pure tone
- only divided into different cadre lengths - musically leads to interesting
sound compositions, which are all based on the principle of interruption.
