In this utopian vision human beings are equipped with a neuronal interface.
The 'brain chip' enables its user to interact mentally with external
computers. Along with the legal journey into cyberspace, prohibited shapes
of virtual reality have evolved. Through doing this the user gets connected
to programmes which stimulate subconscious cerebral areas. The protagonist of this movie is a 'terminal addict'- a cyber-junkie who has become addicted to this kind of electronic drug. The boundary between reality and virtual reality dissolves more and more in the course of the story. From a formal perspective, the final product is a combination of the audiovisual media of film, video and computer animation. Either the material was post-produced and edited digitally, or the sound is completely generated by digital machinery. The plot can only be reconstructed with a lot of fantasy and a few LSD-trips. In this futuristic portrayal, a human brain travels through cyberspace. / Kurier ....best sound effects... / Der Standard This fascinating film polished with computer animation offers an oppressive view of the possible future. / Die Furche '...watching wirehead right now - trippy, trippy - what kind of drugs you guys taking??????
